Abstract

An essay narrated from the intimacy which delves into the normalization of the menstruating people’s pain; the taught shame about our bodies, the violence caused by ignorance and the need to break that silence because if it does not have a name, it does not exist.

Author Biography

  • Macarena de-Arrigunaga, Independent researcher

    She studied Latin-American Literature. She published a collection of illustrated poems in 2019 called Eclipse de girasoles. In the last years she collaborated with visual material, poetry and literary critiques at various cultural platforms such as Gatopardo, Mula Blanca, Radio UAM, Content Journal and C de Cultura. 

    She currently lives in London where she completed a postgraduate course in “Creative essay and self-referential writing”.
