Abstract

Contemporary Portuguese poetry has also generated dialogue with Dante. In a sharp rewriting, Pedro Eiras transfers the metaphysical worlds from the Italian poet to an XXI century’s reality, in which neither inferno nor purgatorio has lost validity.

José Luis Gómez-Vázquez, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Facultad de Filosofía y Letras

José Luis Gómez (Joselo) is a literature professor in Facultad de Filosofía y Letras at UNAM. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Literature at UNAM, he has specialized in Portugal’s Literature from the XIX century and travel literature written in Portuguese. As a translator, he has been involved in the Banff International Literary Translation Program (BILTC) and in the Incubadora de Traductores project.
