Author Biography

  • David Huerta, Independent researcher

    He was born in 1949 and has published more than twenty books of poetry and four more of essays. He is a professor in two public universities: the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México. On November 2021, the lenghty anthology El desprendimiento (selected and edited by Jordi Doce) will be released under Galaxia Gutenberg publishing house, which gathers Huerta’s poems written between 1972 and 2020: nearly half a century of writing poetry. In 2015, David Huerta received the Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes in the Linguistics and Literature field. In 2019, he won the Premio FIL of Literature in Romance Languages. Currently, he coordinates two courses: Cátedra Extraordinaria Octavio Paz at UNAM and Cátedra Cultura Urbana at UACM.
