Abstract

The construction of a project is one of the first steps to be taken when starting any research. This document allows us to build the roadmap by which we will have to conduct our study. However, it is likely that we realize that the methodological training acquired is not enough to build the project in a limited time. There are numerous manuals to guide us, but a significant number of them have a level of depth in which we could easily get lost, especially if the deadline approaches. For this reason, the contribution of this article is to expose and analyze the constituent elements of a research project in a brief and sequential way. The intention is that the people who face the writing of a research project have a scheme to understand what each element of the project refers to and be able to write it successfully.

Author Biography

Edwin Atilano-Robles, National Autonomous University of Mexico

He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), Master in Government and Public Affairs from the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (Flacso) academic campus in Mexico and Bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration from the Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales (FCPyS) of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Since August of 2021, he has been a full-time professor at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores (FES) Acatlán from UNAM, where he teaches several courses in the area of methodology and quantitative methods. Similarly, from 2019 to 2021 he served as a professor at the FCPyS and from 2017 to 2020 as a lab technician of quantitative methods and rational choice at the CIDE.

He specializes in research methodology for social sciences, quantitative methods, as well as comparative political economy, with a particular emphasis on the effect of political institutions on the economic results of authoritarian regimes. He is currently involved in different research projects related to the teaching of methodological subjects at professional level and the analysis of authoritarian dynamics in Mexico during the 20th Century.
