Abstract

This review presents the research seminar El extraño cortejo de otro mundo: Narrativas fantásticas y poéticas de la otredad. Its origin and objectives are: to inquire about the different forms in which the fantastic and poetic otherness shape new interpretations of reality and its representations. Furthermore, it shows the participants and describes the variety of aims of study that resonate with works of Elena Garro, Ana María Matute, Laura Restrepo, Alma Mancilla, Mariangela Ugarelli, José Agustín and prestigious Latin American narrative. This course engages in a critical tradition that recognizes fantasy not only as a literary device, but also as a valuable mean to delve into human experience and its diverse ways of representation.
