What does Astrostatistics offer?

The diversity of statistical issues that Astronomy faces nowadays is what led, in 2003, to the creation of the multidisciplinary area known as Astrostatistics. This, in order to facilitate the development of useful tools and to promote the divulgation of statistical knowledge.
