Abstract

The essay addresses the beginning of the Great Trade War (GTW) issue, which occurred within the framework of the lowest North American productivity rates with a downward trend. It also deals with what was called the Pax Britannica against the Pax Americana and the loss of legitimacy and the trade war of these nations against Japan, Germany and China in terms of automotive industry, electronics, renewable energies, telecommunications and flat screens manufacturing.

Author Biography

Óscar Ugarteche-Galarza, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas

Economist, writer and professor. Senior researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Económicas (UNAM). He is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (level III). He is coordinator of the Observatorio Económico de América Latina (OBELA). He was former president and member of the Consejo Directivo de Agencia Latinoamericana de Información (ALAI, Quito). He has served as consultant for the United Nations, for the Banco Central de Nicaragua and for the Banco Central de Bolivia.

He has written many books and articles about Globalization and external debt. Some of his books are Adiós Estado, bienvenido mercado (2004), Vicios públicos. Poder y corrupción (2005) and La gran mutación. El capitalismo real del siglo XXI (2013).
