Given the difficulty of defining the essay, this text wonders about its literary possibilities and the implications of considering it as an inventive writing process.

Author Biography

Laura Sofía Rivero, El Colegio de México

Essayist and professor. She has won the Premio Nacional de Ensayo Joven “José Luis Martínez” 2020 for Dios tiene tripas, the Certamen Internacional de Literatura “Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz” 2017 for Tomografía de lo ínfimo, the Premio Dolores Castro 2016 for Retóricas del presente, the III Concurso Nacional de crítica literaria “Elvira López Aparicio” 2016, among others. She has received scholarships from the Fundación para las Letras Mexicanas and the “Jóvenes creadores” Programme from FONCA. She has published in the magazines: Nexos, Tierra Adentro, Letras Libres, Revista de la Universidad, Este País, among others.
