Abstract

The article focuses on knowing a particular case of workplace violence that took place in the Only Labor Union of Electricians of the Mexican Republic. The objective is to analyze a case that occurred in this union from the victim’s perspective. The theoretical approach is the paradoxes of law presented by Augusto Sánchez Sandoval. A qualitative analysis is done based on the interview with the victim. The results display that the victim’s integrity, health, safety and self-esteem were harmed, besides suffering institutional violence. As the main conclusion, it is emphasized that the workplace violence permitted by the women in the union environment is conditioned by the power relation which puts their economic, family and close friends’ welfare in their boss’s hands.
