Abstract

The present essay elaborates a distinction between the Mexican philosophy history and the research processes in the practice of the Mexican philosophic thinking. The text aims to discuss the research methodologies applied to historicize the Mexican philosophic discourse of the 20th century; hence the approach from which it is analyzed is genealogical. Moreover, it reflects the implications that the aforementioned study methodologies have in the characterization of the Mexican philosophic practice. The essay develops a critical assessment of the graduate works produced by José Gaos’s students in relation with the Mexican philosophic characterizations.
