Abstract

The review explains the research work done in the PAPIIT project Reflexiones filosóficas España-México: la justicia y sus prácticas contemporáneas. Dr. Raúl Alcalá Campos is the head of the project and participates with researchers, teachers, and students from the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán, the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the UNAM and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, España. The project aims to analyze the various notions of justice that philosophy has carried out in Spain and Mexico taking into account the multicultural environments.

Author Biographies

Raúl Alcalá Campos, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Ph. D. in Philosophy Science specializing in hermeneutics and multiculturalism by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Since 1981,he has been a full-time “C” main research professor at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acaltán of the UNAM. Member of the NATIONAL SYSTEM OF RESEARCH since 1993. He has participated in several projects including “Sociedad del Conocimiento y Diversidad Cultural” and “La justicia y sus prácticas culturales”. His publications include Hermenéutica: teoría e interpretación; Controversias conceptuales y Hermenéutica, analogía y significado; Discusiones sobre Mauricio Beuchot; Sujeto, identidad y valores; Pluralismo y diversidad cultural; Una visión hermenéutica del contexto cultural contemporáneo and De las prácticas de justicia a su concepción plural; as well as several articles in specialized magazines.

Laura Alicia Soto Rangel, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Ph. D in Philosophy by the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM) with the thesis “Estructura de las Disputaciones Metafísicas de Francisco Suárez”. Member of the National System of Research and Mexico’s Philosophical Association, where she’s been part of the board of directors, as well as the ruling commissions. She is a professor at the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán and the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the UNAM. Among her most recent academic publications, we can mention, Nociones filosóficas y prácticas de la justicia, coordinator (México: UNAM, 2021) “Principio y causa en las Disputaciones Metafísicas de Francisco Suárez” in A quinientos años de la Políglota: el proyecto humanístico de Cisneros. Fuentes documentales y líneas de investigación (Madrid: Unión de Editoriales Universitarias Españolas, 2015) “El problema de la libertad en el De ánima de Francisco Suárez” (Madrid: UPSA, Unión de Editoriales Universitarias Españolas, 2017). “El problema de la creación en la filosofía Varro a de Francisco Suárez.” Horizontes filosóficos 8, 2019.

Miriam Díaz Somera, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Graduate, master, and doctoral candidate in Philosophy at the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Since 2007, she has been a member of the Permanent Seminar on “Historia de las ideas” which takes place at the Centro de Investigaciones sobre América Latina y el Caribe (CIALC). She has partaken in several national and international Philosophy congresses as a speaker. Her doctoral research deals with Vera Yamuna Tabush’s contribution to the feminist history of ideas and thoughts in Mexico. At the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán (UNAM) she teaches the subjects Temas Selectos de Hermenéutica and Temas Selectos de Filosofía en México as well as collaborating in the PAPIIT project “Reflexiones filosóficas España-México: La justicia y sus prácticas contemporáneas”.
