Resumen

Este texto explora las distintas modalidades que manifiesta la relación entre poesía y ciencias matemáticas y naturales. También propone un esquema estructuralista para identificar senderos por los que la poesía de la ciencia puede cultivar armonía y/o tensión con el conocimiento científico.

Biografía del autor/a

Pedro Poitevin, Salem State University

Recibió un doctorado en matemáticas en la University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign en el año 2006, y desde entonces funge como profesor asociado de matemáticas en Salem State University, en Salem, Massachusetts. Especializado en lógica matemática y sus aplicaciones al análisis funcional, demostró que ciertas clases de espacios de Nakano son axiomatizables en la lógica continua para estructuras métricas. Es, además, traductor, poeta bilingüe, y un hábil escritor de palíndromos.
