Abstract

Despite being considered diametrically opposed, science and poetry interconnect given their linguistics procedures in common, which invite the translator’s creativity and expertise, when choosing the most efficient words to convey messages within their challenging constraints.

Author Biography

Penélope Montoya-Montelongo, National Autonomous University of Mexico

She studied Hispanic Languages and Literature at Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán, UNAM. She is a graduate of the first generation of the Translation of texts in English and Spanish Diploma course at the same Faculty, where she is currently teaching the modules of Principles, Types, Techniques and Procedures of Translation, as well as, Translation of Commercial, Scientific and Technological Texts.

She has participated in the training of interpreters and translators at higher education institutions and is a freelance translator of scientific, commercial, and technical texts in English and Spanish, collaborating with clients such as Fundación UNAM, in the dissemination of scientific research.
