This text explores Humberto Quiceno's book, Pedagogía y literatura. Enseñar a pensar, which is a compendium of his lessons and conferences of the last twenty years, focused on pedagogy in Colombia and its relationship with universal culture.
The book is divided into two parts: the first analyzes pedagogy and universal literature, whereas the second focuses on pedagogy in Colombia. The book highlights how Rousseau and other thinkers influenced the conceptualization of pedagogy. It also addresses the current challenges in education and academic training in Colombia, emphasizes on the importance of integrating literature and philosophy in the educational field to face contemporary problems.
