Abstract

Dante Alighieri’s Comedy has resonated through various artistic expressions, being the video games the most recent format that has found a dialogue with the medieval poem. In this essay, we will review the intertextual relations between the Divine Comedy and the video games Dante’s inferno and Devil May Cry.

Author Biography

Alejandro Rodríguez, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Graduated in Spanish Language and Literature from FES Acatlán, UNAM. He has published his essays and articles in different media, like Primera página, Blanca Móvil, FIGURAS REVISTA ACADÉMICA DE INVESTIGACIÓN, among others. He has published the books entitled Dione: la gran batalla contra el Drakón (2016), Bestiario de las siete criaturas soñadas (2016) y En el reino de la tierra (2021). He was head of press at MUNAL during 2019-2021 and was part of a team of screenwriters coordinated by Professor Everest Landa for the creation of content for the section Saberes Digitales for the program “Aprende en casa de la SEP y la SEMS”. Additionally, he coordinates the literary dissemination project “Poéticamente Incorrecto”.
