Abstract

The sounds of the city are changing. We move through it without paying attention, and its analysis, the cartographies, shows only one part. That is why it is necessary to consider other aspects like the design and shapes of the city. But above all, the whole experience narrated by those who listen to it and live in it.

Author Biography

Jimena de Gortari Ludlow, Universidad Iberoamericana. Ciudad de México

Full-time professor at Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. Currently, institutional coordinator of research. Member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, level I. Acamedician of the Academia Nacional de Arquitectura. Author of the book Guía sonora para una ciudad  and articles on sound environments. She has participated in seminars, congresses, and urban project consultancies.

She researches urban acoustics, soundscape, noise pollution, urban health, and public space. Lecturer and director of Master Theses. Columnist in Opinion 51 and activist against noise.
