Abstract

Divided into two parts, Esther Martínez Luna’s book titled Soñadores, espectadores, sabias y pirracas (2022) analyzes literary genres such as the letter, the literary dream, and the spectator to then explore the "identity configurations" of communities that generate and disclose knowledge including the female subject, the foppish and the creole. This review will concisely explore the main proposals of this book which invites us to question and comprehend the forms of sociability and the support of enlightened discourses in Mexico in the early nineteenth century.
