Abstract

Sound in the forensic architecture field can function as an analysis and communication tool. This essay explores these possibilities in some research conducted by Forensic Architecture.

Author Biography

Mely Adriana Morfín Ramírez, Independent

Architecture graduate from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City with honors for her degree project as part of the “Blanca Cemex” chair. She studied at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) in the Forensic Architecture methodologies workshop. She has collaborated with various architectural firms and university institutions, working mainly in the research and communication architectural field. She maintains a special interest in the relationship between architecture, human rights, and justice, as well as in the alternative representations and narratives of space. Her collaboration with volunteer work and human rights committees has been fundamental to the development of her discipline.

In the academic field, she has coordinated different diploma courses in collaboration with the Division de Educacion Continua and Actualizacion Docente de la Facultad de Arquitectura of UNAM. She was part of the coordination team and faculty of the workshop Tierra-Agua 2022 in collaboration with the Universidad Iberoamericana CDMX and the Università Iuav di Venezia. Editor at Archdaily during 2015-2016. Coordinator of the school Fabrica de Ciudad during 2019-2022. Currently, she collaborates as a communication collaborator at Estudio MMX.
