Access to healthcare in Mexico is currently considered a human right for all citizens. However, this right is compromised in situations of violence (often criminal), which weaken the rule of law and affect people's lives, undermining its fulfillment. In this essay, we will address the following points: a) the implications of violent and legal environments on the human right to health in Mexico, including an analysis of the historical context; b) a review of existing literature to understand this phenomenon and act accordingly; c) the impacts on the right to health in Mexican society, with an emphasis on criminality, the role of the state, and the phenomenon of femicide; d) an exploration of policy alternatives and possible future scenarios in this area; and, finally, e) reflections to better frame the issue in the Mexican context and consider medium- and long-term options as final conclusions in the form of a balance.Downloads
