Abstract

To pupils that wander constantly around diverse sites, not always are textures of architecture shown in the aimed clarity. The superficial contact -gaze and touch- only allows, in many occasions, a passing glance. However, we inhabit places and transform them with the assiduity of our body (physical, sensual and of thought) which day by day installs itself and shapes a home. Little by little, the fugitive and inaccurate aspects of our public space acquire, unnoticed, the importance of linking us to them. Thus, introspection occurs and we randomly find a profound knowledge of ourselves and the place we have resided in.

By weaving the parts of a whole, the photograph (although several) captures the coincidences of the spaces where –in a bricolage – the quotidian regularity of passing by, and sometimes settling down in, each of those places reaches symmetry, even considering the consented permutations. This gaze converts the architectural rhythm of the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán into a contemporary Trompe-l'œil where, as stated by Nicolas Poussin, all «of this its place will find».
