Abstract

Permanent Seminar “Retórica, Literatura y Docencia” takes place biweekly –under the coordination of the Dr. Verónica Hernández Landa Valencia– to reflect on the possibilities of implementation of the rhetoric to the teaching practice, particularly to the teaching of Literature. The members of the same, reflect on different strategies to have an impact on the students of high school education and higher education to persuade them to think literature can be a significant part of their life, and reading it and studying it can turn into a way of knowledge, sensitiveness or expression which relates to different aspects of the existence or human communication.

Author Biography

Verónica Hernández-Landa-Valencia, National Autonomous University of Mexico

PhD in Literature by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and full time Professor of the Hispanic Languages and Literature major at Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán, where she coordinates the Seminar Retórica, Literarura y Docencia. Her lines of research are rhetoric and literature teaching, relationships between literature, history and society, short novel and 19^th century and beginning of the 20^th century Hispanic-American historical novel. She is a National Researcher Level l. She is a member of the advisory board of the collection Novelas en la Frontera, besides have being a guest researcher and member of the editorial committee of such and of the collection Novelas en Tránsito in the proyect “Lecturas transversales de la novela corta en México”, conducted by Gustavo Jimenez Aguirre from the Instituto de Investigaciones Filológicas de la UNAM, financed by Conacyt and FONCA.

She is also coeditor of the collective book Ligera de equipaje. Itinerarios de la novela corta en México (UNAM, 2019). Among her last publications the articles “Bellas letras en El Álbum Mexicano” (UNAM, 2022), “Mujeres fatales desafían el statu quo. Estudio de tres novelas del mundo hispánico y su adaptación cinematográfica”, (revista Valenciana 2021), and “Tópicos. Una propuesta de definición para el estudio del funcionamiento retórico de la femme fatale” (UAM, 2020) are found.
