Abstract

This review describes the content of the book Los estudios de audiencias. De la tradición a la innovación, coordinated by Natalia Quintas-Froufe y Ana González-Neira; in which they go over the different chapters the piece is composed of: the theoretical conceptual debate, the application areas, the methodology, the scopes and limitations. The most relevant aspects, which are of interest to the communication and social sciences specialists, are noted.

Author Biography

  • Fernando Martínez-Vázquez, National Autonomous University of Mexico

    He holds a Master of Social Anthropology from Universidad Iberoamericana. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Collective Communication from the Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán, UNAM. Coordinator of the  Comunicación social y humana diploma course at Centro de Formación Continua, CCH. He also coordinates the Diploma course Investigación en Comunicación y coordinador and the Prácticas Comunicativas, Producción y Circulación de Bienes Culturales seminar, both at FES Acatlán, UNAM. He has taught and designed a variety of courses in the field of Communication. He works as a professor for the Communication Master’s Degree at Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales and at FES Acatlán, UNAM; in the Docencia en Educación Media Superior Master (Madems),as well as in the communication major at FES Acatlán, UNAM. He is the book coordinator of: La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Alumnos, UNAM-CCH, 2016; La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Maestros fundadores, UNAM-CCH, 2018; La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Caminos de la investigación, DGAPA, 2020. He has published a variety of articles in several magazines.
