Abstract

In this work it is highlighted that in the pedagogic thought of Célestin Freinet are presented two main elements: wisdom, with the last purpose of the educative activity, and the “technology”, understood as a bridge between pedagogic reflection and the activity in the intentionally set up activity for learning. Besides this, it tries to go in depth in the genealogical meaning of the terms of wisdom and technology, and examinate the way how the French author, supported in both concepts, developed a pedagogy that transcends the instruction and gets in the educative field of the subject – in – community. However, his critique ensures the prevailing scholar system on its time stopped the limits of the institutionalism; in other words, pretended to restructure the school, not making it disappear, to fulfill it with a humanistic formative sense which is alternative to the one that is imposed in the occidental modernity.
