Abstract

The following review describes the book Digital Ethnography’s content. Principles and Practices (2019) by Sarah Pink, Heather Horst, John Postill, Larissa Hjorth, Tania Lewis and Jo Tacchi. The conceptual theorical debate, areas of application, methodology, and scope and limitations are explained.  In addition, relevant aspects for specialists in communication, anthropology and social sciences are highlighted.

Author Biography

  • Fernando Martínez-Vázquez, National Autonomous University of Mexico. Facultad de Estudios Superiores Acatlán. Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades, Plantel Naucalpan

    He holds a master's degree in Antropología Social from Universidad Iberoamericana. He holds a bachelor's degree in Periodismo y Comunicación Colectiva from the Facultad de Estudios Superiores (FES) Acatlán (UNAM). Coordinator of the Comunicación Social y Humana diploma course at Centro de Formación Continua, Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades (CCH). He also coordinates the diploma course Investigación en Comunicación and coordinates the seminario Prácticas Comunicativas, Producción y Circulación de Bienes Culturales, both at FES Acatlán, UNAM. He has taught and designed a variety of courses aimed at teachers in the field of Communication.

    He works as a professor in the Comunicación Master’s Degree at Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociales and at FES Acatlán; he is a master’s degree professor in the Docencia en Educación Media Superior Master (Madems), as well as in the Communication major at FES Acatlán. He is the coordinator of the books: La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Alumnos (UNAM-CCH 2016), La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Maestros fundadores (UNAM-CCH 2018) and La urdimbre escolar: palabras y miradas. Caminos de la investigación (DGAPA 2020); and he has published a variety of articles in several magazines.
