The relationship between violence and human rights in Mexico is a matter of significant relevance and complexity. Despite the apparent nobility inherent in human rights, its implementation faces the harsh reality of a context where violence is constant, particularly affecting the most vulnerable sectors of society. This complex relation is the subject developed in the section Scenarios of FIGURAS REVISTA ACADÉMICA DE INVESTIGACIÓN.
Although human rights are proclaimed in agreements and constitutions, their effective implementation often remains behind. In the political realm, low-intensity strategies such as lawfare demonstrate how violence could be exerted in less visible yet equally destructive ways, eroding the legitimacy of institutions and undermining public trust.
Additionally, the right to health faces significant challenges due to violence and the weakness of the rule of law. The high crime rate and the lack of a robust judicial system directly impacts the citizen’s ability to access quality healthcare services. Furthermore, institutional violence, especially towards women, and corruption in the public sector reflect a system in need of reform.
Penitentiary system reveals another facet of institutional violence, particularly in the case of incarcerated mothers, whose mental health and personal development are severely affected.
Thus, Scenarios presents essays that invite the reader to reflect on these various forms of violence and their impact on human rights in Mexico. Through a critical analysis, the texts aim to provide a deeper comprehension of these challenges, fostering open and transparent discussion. The sections Perspectivesand Resonances claim a productive discourse of the interests in international multidisciplinary research. Four articles and a review present novel research on new topics.
“Poetry as a tool for motivation. Analysis of poems by Georg Trakl and Bertolt Brecht: teaching methodology in German class” is a deep analysis on different aspects of motivation and the application in German class of two German writer’s poetry; in “The Mexican and Spanish municipalities regimes in the adoption of open government” it is conducted a study on the municipal systems of both countries to recognize the advancement of their government schemes; “Hemingway's Spain: The Orientalist Phenomenon in his Work on the Spanish Civil War” highlights the orientalist perspective driven by the American author and journalist to create a specific narrative about Spain; and “Human individualization and its foundations in animal individualization” is an exercise of heterogeneous sociological thought.
Finally, the critical review, in which it outlines the aspects considered of interest of the book Las leyes de la interfaz. Diseño, ecología, evolución, tecnología by Carlos A. Scolari.
